According to a November 3 report by the Xinhua News Agency, the head of China's Optical Telecommunications Committee of the China Telecommunications Society was recently quoted as saying that a report done on the development of the Internet in China showed that the number of people connected to the Internet had risen to 103 million at the end of June 2005. 53 million people had broadband subscriptions, of which ADSL users accounted for about 62%. The survey also revealed widespread dissatisfaction with the speed of Internet connections, as less than 50% was more than moderately satisfied with Internet speed.
